This one turned up and said good morning in a playful way, asked for breakfast,
We had fun for about half an hour, Later in the day some white cockatoos turned up..
Their big birds, eat a lot and destructive. I said no and closed the lid,, haha,,
We had a short discussion and they flew of...
I went in side and there was a loud thump thump on yhe roof.
I went out side to look and there was a cockatoo on the roof look at me.
He flew of....about half an hour later they started turning up , within ten minits about 50 in the trees about the house making a rukus.. OK OK this is scary,
I have heard of these birds destroying houses, dont want war, took the lid of, three came down to eat and the rest flew off...
I think when you make a pledge to this earth to care for her and all her creatures you open yourself to a greater consciousness, with a ever growing responsibility.

Dogs

He knows an open free environment,
She is having fun being guided in open human/canine social culture
They help one another.
In a way they are more human than many of us humans!

Des is a 13 year kelpie cross, my dog, he has taught my so much about communication,,
Maggie is a young dog of a friend I borrowed for a few days. It took so much to gain this dogs trust when we first met, Maggie comes from a dysfunctional high stress environment,, so we are teaching her to be confident and trusting.
Its an open canine/ peoples social scene on this beach,,,,

Maggie is so unsure with herself jumpy hypa-aware and anxious in strange environments, she reacts with fearful aggression meeting other strange dogs, snarls and snaps when they get to close, The sniff over totally freaks her out, nose to tail and nose to nose.
It was good to meet others ,stand and chat, It gave mag an opportunity to see and be with calm passive dogs, With the right guidance she will be a top dog.
Des is very curious, friendly, excited intelligent over the top stirrer fun mature dog. He likes being her guardian and together we had a very fulfilling and heart warming fun time.

The beach has no where to pis mix and sniff, no marker posts, daily their sent traces are washed away, A part of dog behavior that was largely absent. Des would occasionally mark something that had been washed up. when he wasn't to busy having an ecstatic time.

I am learning so much working with dogs, they respond so well to aware compassionate consistent responsible interactions. They learn and move on so quickly.
Their exactly like us in how they express the behavior patterns of their environment.
I am sad in a way, because the warmth of heart shown and felt from caring dogs is so often inhibited in humans.
It is often difficult for us to move on.

A Week Later

Magi can catch, she couldn't before the weekend..
Iv been having fun, its amazing watching another learn.
I kept throwing little nuggets of food at her mouth.
At first she would just look as they rolled of her and hit the ground.
It was fun rolling them of her nose, and aiming between the eye
(straight in towards the eyes is difficult for anyone)
a slight oblique angle is best for learners (easy). Target practice for me.
She saw the other dogs, has the idea, but couldn't get the timing..
(they also suffer envy and jealousy when another is rewarded for something they cant do).
123.......... then 123 in a row, and another... Phase lock,, let her sleep.
next day..... misses a heap then 1234.....got it..
I step back a bit, "stay". and improve her skill....she wants to get it good,,
I step back some more, "stay" and improve her skill.
Open full awareness and attention, total willingness to grow in self.
What we learn't, was she learn't stay without being taught.
So many ways for neural networks to share information,
Human language needs to be decoded,, so many blocks.
I often have more intelligent interactions with the birds
that visit my backyard than with 80% of the humans I know.
Sad in a way...
Ive ran out of language.

Cook enough semolina in milk to just thicken, add chocolate. heaps.

Overwhelm -

Fun driving while this is about.
I need to concentrate intensely with time/vision to keep objects vectors and my position in the environment together.
It is incredibly confusing and fatiguing to drive in traffic with all this color.
To walk and stare and take it all in is nirvana.

I don't get why when I'm overwhelmed by color it it diminishes my ability to discriminate position in space/time.

Could you imagine trying to paint it, changing before you could get paint on brush.

Thinking in pictures, I like that, relates.. its somatic..
It feels like a blind person navigating a room,A house, a town.
I know my mind though I cant see it, I feel the colours and textures I hear its edges.
Its very somatic, very sensual, thinking in pictures.
Its not sound, its not touch, its not seeing, its not taste, its not smell.
Its any and all, all at the same time.
Harmonics.

Learning language

Something I've just learnt, deeply.
You have all been a part.. I hope you are getting this as well....
It doesn’t mater who you are,what species, how you process information.
We all have our own internal language, alien in a way to others.
Real communication happens when we take time to learn and integrate the internal language of another.. this is friendship. It is what the whisperers know......
The interface between self and other, congruency in harmonics between isolated but connected neural networks, brain resonating with brain in a choral symphony.
We only miss it because we don’t take the time to learn our own internal language.
Or the internal language of another.

Autism
It gets in your life and you cant get rid of it
It leaves a trail of inspiration confusion and emotional carnage in its wake.
The stigma associated with it reveals the depth of prejudices & bigotry in out society.
I must apologise to those I offend , some I have no intention to.
But I get confused by those that project false image.
The amount of covert bulling and violence was the thing that led me to a diagnoses of aspergers, I am autistic.
I have tried so hard to be accepted by NT, twisting my mind in ways that is to me warped, just to communicate on that wavelength/phase.
Yet I have this disability, this gift. It is so foreign/familiar. It does not mean I don’t comprehend! I have spent my life emulating NT brains in order to communicate, it is not automatic or in real time. It takes as much time to learn NT language as it takes for NT to learn aspie. Yet most NT refuse. I wish more would spend the time to learn more than one style/phase/way of thinking.
It is fatiguing to tangle my mind to untangle another, I don’t always get it right.

When I am doing a lot of internal processing. Just to be able to comprehend you.
I am filtering vast amounts of information consciously to be able to capture what you are saying. I am taking it on board. Mostly I get it, if I don’t I will ask for clarification.

When I look at your face and into your eyes I see the micro expressions, I feel your body, I feel your emotions, I feel your mind, as if they are my own. Yet I don’t know the centre. It takes effort to separate, Its intense. I need to do a lot of real time internal work to discriminate and maintain separation, Just so your words can make sense..........

When you’re words, body language, eye & facial micro expressions don’t match, it flaws me in real time, I wont make eye contact.

When you force or would impose the NT way without thinking. I wont make eye contact.

Mostly even my best friends. I don’t spend much time making eye contact.
Its to intense, except in love!
I do look, I do see.
I just don’t do it for social reasons.

Imagine -
sensory overload as a base state.
Light, colours, sound, tone, touch smell taste.
surfaces and waveforms in sound colour texture.

only different depending on processing/filtering mode

Vision always intense colours and detail incredibly rich.
I see/hear//feel/taste/smell my visual cortex Raw, internal noise is not filtered ,
sometimes overwhelmed unable to discriminate.
Like A blind man knowing a room a house a castle.
I feel my mind, I feel my vision, I hear its notes, it is rich and pleasant.

Filters,
High level vision auditory somatic primary sensory dater processing,
Low level secondary filtering, including social, gender stereotyping.
Not always under conscious control.
A team of wild horses.

Senses

Like a team of powerful horses with the lightest of chariots

wild, and unskilled charioteer learning from cart drivers.
Time, the rains are different,there are more
Senses, feel the reins they quiver always both ways.

Naming/language - seeing/reading – reading /naming -
The hearing/naming works buts does not connect ,( like when you look at a leaf - primary processing,, knowing its name "leaf" is not overlayed in conscious, it happens but in separation.. takes a lot of time and energy to get this right for some, just a curse for others.).(microsecond delay echo, uses a lot of mental resources)....

Nameit/Speakit
look at a scene any scene look at a object, name it. Speak it.
Look what’s happening. seeing/naming/knowing – knowing/naming/seeing/Sharing.
We all have times when we slip. How frustrating. When its all there!
Say a word repetitively until it has lost meaning, feel it.
Apply it to an object, knowing/naming disconnect.
I have to spend a lot of time on the mechanics of this just to be able to communicate.
It takes up mental resource, is fatiguing, and at times overloads .

Object. seeing /naming no overlay, word somewhere somewhere else, colours intense.
one colour jams, a little bit ok, much more it bleeds into everything , hearing touch smell, nothing else,
language- naming no name/comprehending, no language, its so loud, not fun.
Shut down /reboot ,don’t look... quick quick real quick,,, before they think your thick!!!
From mild to total disconnect. Have patience. My friend.

Sometimes I just have to go.
Its loud in here and my head hurts.

Its good to be around caring friends when one is vulnerable.
No meltdown.

Communicating
Internal/external Its a bit like, no major highway, only a common bus.
Racing along back streets, flat out weaving turning swarming sweeving data collecting,. STOP.............. which port
No super highway, No of the shelf NT encapsulation.
Error check, resend.

A windy day
chaotic I feel the sounds, I feel the pressure changes, the hair on my skin, pervasive chaotic,
I hear what I feel,my body makes a noise.
I feel what I hear, the feedback a bit much.
it makes me itchy. Irritable
its hard to filter out. I close My eyes, its like sparklers, like the wind in my visual cortex.
Harmonic noises Stochastic resonance amplifying not squelched.
And when its quite again I still feel the wind I see the noise.
I need time to process all that I hear?!?
I cant process the chaotic info as my brain insists,
it takes up a lot of processing to filter this out.
Ill stay inside.

Hearing sensitive felt deep in the belly, some sounds nausea some nectar,
On the skin all ways tingling just to hear/hearing/sounding/speaking/comprehending.
I hear my skin, I hear my body, I can hear an individual finger a part of, any part of my body,
I discriminate, always my mind is filled with noise, all frequencies, everything its own note.
Colours sounds textures smells, all as sound. Often confusing, sometimes it screams, overwhelming, its loud it full on.
Most time music.
I avoid loud confusing places if I can. I need to be certain of in making sound.
A little ok, depends on overload threshold.
And sometime I scream at a world that’s screaming at me.

I don’t feel I have anything needing to be fixed.
Its good to have a hypa sensitive system. and intelligence to integrate all that input.
All the chemicals I Avoid because they interact at a conscious level are also the ones that they are finding insidious harmful.
Autism is essentially a name for a set of symptoms.(symptoms is not the correct term)? (Processes maybe)
When Asked by the psychologist did I want It fixed. NO no No was my reply. no way.
I just wanted conformation.
Severe autism I know nothing about and is not my place to comment till I spend time with that brain.
The brain has its own agenda not always concurrent with self

Forward and up along the sound, then back and down.. I noticed I was tracing out surfaces, one curved in and concave. I realised where I was and felt the surface clean, as I moved back and down in a way, the sound became harder more clunk clunky, and then softer.
Moving following the sound path back it became louder at my diaphragm and then it went straight down. Loud and soft smother, then suddenly no sound and a dissipating expanding falling cooling whirlpool without the whirl. Spraying cooling heat into my feet and hands and neck and everywhere. My body feels nice .
Wow , neat roller-coaster, lets do it again.
Find the heart,
Today my heart feels content.

A tree not to complex, not to simple, one that you can fit in the visual field and still define the leaves.

Look at it, just take it in, breath.

See the whole tree, let your eyes scan, Don’t bring your eyes to point focus.
Keep looking. Watch it become more three dimensional, greater depth.
Notice the detail increase.

With practice you can hold a leaf still in the mind and see its surface.
(I think this is an artefact of our evolving visual system.
We no longer have the patience or need to sit still in a forest watching one area of our visual field.)

This is a great cheese cake
Play wit it -

24' pan

100g Fresh ground flour
40g ground almonds
40 -50g honey
45g butter
65g cream
spice of your liking.
Put flour almonds spice, honey butter in a bowl , work into a crumbly mass,
mix with cream keep cool

250G raspberry.
350g cream cheese/quark.
40-50g honey
2 eggs
juice of lemon

Mix honey cheese egg yolks,
beet egg whites till yummy
fold in with raspberry cheese.

Push pastry into pan fill with raspberry mix
bake high ten minutes
low 30 or so..

A TLUD - Top Lit Up Draft - Spinner

I’ve been following a couple of different groups and discussions to learn about biochar for about 6 months. Id like to share what I’ve been learning and ask a couple of questions.

My purpose is to use biochar as a component in biological soil synthesis and buffer for use in a vaquaculture growing system.

I have been making small TLUD stoves, observing modeling tweaking making another.
It’s been informative and fun. The char is as valuable as the worms.
I have been producing about 1.2kg biochar a week to play with.
Fresh char is inhibitory to worms, needs further evaluation.
Its hungry & harsh with a high Ph. Treatment with Activated Compost Tea softens and makes it more bio friendly. Plants like it.

The idea is to learn the principles and process of Pyrolysis to make a stove that is efficient, produce char heat and cook on. I have learnt a lot in the last 6 months. A major observation is why are we humans still in the Stone Age when it comes to combustion and use of biomass?

My most recent stove is from a small barbecue gas bottle. It has heated central and radial secondary air, being introduced at 3 different levels. The original flame was long and unstable, headache and vision screwing – high CO? An after burner was created to improve combustion compact the flame to make it more stable and usable.

My strategies was to -
Introduce air in stages to heat air being injected a little higher in the flame column increasing the temp at each stage. (Hotter gasses improve efficiency of reaction allowing a wider air fuel ratio?).
Keep the reacting process as compact as possible by getting the flame to spiral and travel in a horizontal plane. Improve mixing by manipulating the resulting vortex.
Use boundary layers to advantage - (a boundary layer will insulate reacting gases from the walls of the combustion chamber, it will also inhibit heat transfer on the air side.
Insulate the stove well.

The available fuel source is mixed tree wood chips from urban sorces.
It takes about 1.5k wood chips, yields about 400g char, burns for about an hour till the flame changes. At this point I have extinguished it and harvested the biochar.

I call it the Spinner.
It’s a wonderful teaching device, as a cooking device it’s a bit overpowered.
It burns clean and very stable,
No bleary vision or headaches.
Each tweak teaches me, failures are best.
Combustion and knowledge continually improves.
Imagination is the most precious resource.
This is alchemy, art & science.

I find CO a problem in that it is extremely toxic and if not burnt its energy potential is lost.
I Wish I had a better CO CO2 temp ...meters than my nerves system as it would give me better feedback on what happening.

Experience Learn.

What would it be like to take responsibility for this carbon, Our carbon?

The carbon that moves through this personal life.

THE EARTH CHARTER

Preamble

We stand at a critical moment in Earth's history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the peoples of Earth, declare our responsibility to one another, to the greater community of life, and to future generations.

Earth, Our Home

Humanity is part of a vast evolving universe. Earth, our home, is alive with a unique community of life. The forces of nature make existence a demanding and uncertain adventure, but Earth has provided the conditions essential to life's evolution. The resilience of the community of life and the well-being of humanity depend upon preserving a healthy biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure waters, and clean air. The global environment with its finite resources is a common concern of all peoples. The protection of Earth's vitality, diversity, and beauty is a sacred trust.

The Global Situation

The dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation, the depletion of resources, and a massive extinction of species. Communities are being undermined. The benefits of development are not shared equitably and the gap between rich and poor is widening. Injustice, poverty, ignorance, and violent conflict are widespread and the cause of great suffering. An unprecedented rise in human population has overburdened ecological and social systems. The foundations of global security are threatened. These trends are perilous—but not inevitable.

The Challenges Ahead

The choice is ours: form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life. Fundamental changes are needed in our values, institutions, and ways of living. We must realize that when basic needs have been met, human development is primarily about being more, not having more. We have the knowledge and technology to provide for all and to reduce our impacts on the environment. The emergence of a global civil society is creating new opportunities to build a democratic and humane world. Our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected, and together we can forge inclusive solutions.

Universal Responsibility

To realize these aspirations, we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities. We are at once citizens of different nations and of one world in which the local and global are linked. Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature.

We urgently need a shared vision of basic values to provide an ethical foundation for the emerging world community. Therefore, together in hope we affirm the following interdependent principles for a sustainable way of life as a common standard by which the conduct of all individuals, organizations, businesses, governments, and transnational institutions is to be guided and assessed.

I. RESPECT AND CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE

1. Respect Earth and life in all its diversity.
a. Recognize that all beings are interdependent and every form of life has value regardless of its worth to human beings.
b. Affirm faith in the inherent dignity of all human beings and in the intellectual, artistic, ethical, and spiritual potential of humanity.

5. Protect and restore the integrity of Earth's ecological systems, with special concern for biological diversity and the natural processes that sustain life.

a. Adopt at all levels sustainable development plans and regulations that make environmental conservation and rehabilitation integral to all development initiatives.
b. Establish and safeguard viable nature and biosphere reserves, including wild lands and marine areas, to protect Earth's life support systems, maintain biodiversity, and preserve our natural heritage.
c. Promote the recovery of endangered species and ecosystems.
d. Control and eradicate non-native or genetically modified organisms harmful to native species and the environment, and prevent introduction of such harmful organisms.
e. Manage the use of renewable resources such as water, soil, forest products, and marine life in ways that do not exceed rates of regeneration and that protect the health of ecosystems.
f. Manage the extraction and use of non-renewable resources such as minerals and fossil fuels in ways that minimize depletion and cause no serious environmental damage.

6. Prevent harm as the best method of environmental protection and, when knowledge is limited, apply a precautionary approach.
a. Take action to avoid the possibility of serious or irreversible environmental harm even when scientific knowledge is incomplete or inconclusive.
b. Place the burden of proof on those who argue that a proposed activity will not cause significant harm, and make the responsible parties liable for environmental harm.
c. Ensure that decision making addresses the cumulative, long-term, indirect, long distance, and global consequences of human activities.
d. Prevent pollution of any part of the environment and allow no build-up of radioactive, toxic, or other hazardous substances.
e. Avoid military activities damaging to the environment.

7. Adopt patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction that safeguard Earth's regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being.
a. Reduce, reuse, and recycle the materials used in production and consumption systems, and ensure that residual waste can be assimilated by ecological systems.
b. Act with restraint and efficiency when using energy, and rely increasingly on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
c. Promote the development, adoption, and equitable transfer of environmentally sound technologies.
d. Internalize the full environmental and social costs of goods and services in the selling price, and enable consumers to identify products that meet the highest social and environmental standards.
e. Ensure universal access to health care that fosters reproductive health and responsible reproduction.

8. Advance the study of ecological sustainability and promote the open exchange and wide application of the knowledge acquired.

14. Integrate into formal education and life-long learning the knowledge, values, and skills needed for a sustainable way of life.
a. Provide all, especially children and youth, with educational opportunities that empower them to contribute actively to sustainable development.
b. Promote the contribution of the arts and humanities as well as the sciences in sustainability education.
c. Enhance the role of the mass media in raising awareness of ecological and social challenges.
d. Recognize the importance of moral and spiritual education for sustainable living.

15. Treat all living beings with respect and consideration.
a. Prevent cruelty to animals kept in human societies and protect them from suffering.
b. Protect wild animals from methods of hunting, trapping, and fishing that cause extreme, prolonged, or avoidable suffering.
c. Avoid or eliminate to the full extent possible the taking or destruction of non-targeted species.

16. Promote a culture of tolerance, nonviolence, and peace.
a. Encourage and support mutual understanding, solidarity, and cooperation among all peoples and within and among nations.
b. Implement comprehensive strategies to prevent violent conflict and use collaborative problem solving to manage and resolve environmental conflicts and other disputes.
c. Demilitarize national security systems to the level of a non-provocative defense posture, and convert military resources to peaceful purposes, including ecological restoration.
d. Eliminate nuclear, biological, and toxic weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
e. Ensure that the use of orbital and outer space supports environmental protection and peace.
f. Recognize that peace is the wholeness created by right relationships with oneself, other persons, other cultures, other life, Earth, and the larger whole of which all are a part.

The Way Forward

As never before in history, common destiny beckons us to seek a new beginning. Such renewal is the promise of these Earth Charter principles. To fulfill this promise, we must commit ourselves to adopt and promote the values and objectives of the Charter.

This requires a change of mind and heart. It requires a new sense of global interdependence and universal responsibility. We must imaginatively develop and apply the vision of a sustainable way of life locally, nationally, regionally, and globally. Our cultural diversity is a precious heritage and different cultures will find their own distinctive ways to realize the vision. We must deepen and expand the global dialogue that generated the Earth Charter, for we have much to learn from the ongoing collaborative search for truth and wisdom.

Life often involves tensions between important values. This can mean difficult choices. However, we must find ways to harmonize diversity with unity, the exercise of freedom with the common good, short-term objectives with long-term goals. Every individual, family, organization, and community has a vital role to play. The arts, sciences, religions, educational institutions, media, businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and governments are all called to offer creative leadership. The partnership of government, civil society, and business is essential for effective governance.

In order to build a sustainable global community, the nations of the world must renew their commitment to the United Nations, fulfill their obligations under existing international agreements, and support the implementation of Earth Charter principles with an international legally binding instrument on environment and development.

Let ours be a time remembered for the awakening of a new reverence for life, the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life.

Something that happened a wile back.

Eagle May 17, 2007

On Tuesday at work Two Wedge tailed Eagles flew over. One was downed by a couple of hawks. I don't know what happened to the other. I contacted wires and a lady turned up with a couple of blankets, (I think they need more resources). I then spent a while talking to and calming this huge scared injured bird walking with her through and around paddocks, Getting closer. Eventually I got close enough to capture her.

We took her/him, I'm going to call it her. We took her to the vet rolled in a blanket. The Bird had an old wound on the wing the elbow joint, this wound the hawks had attacked to bring her down. She had a lice lode, she looked exhausted . I left as they were going to ex ray her, thinking she was in good hands. Later on I heard that the vet had put her down.. justifying it with,,,,

..There was damage in the wing, it did look like the other,,,, What type of life would this animal have,,,,

I am hurt deeply by this, look at this picture! Her wings are up!

A couple of years ago I found a Rosella on the roadside flapping and in shock, I took It to the same vet,

Do you know what they said,,, Its got a damaged wing, wires normally put them down,,,, We would have to bind it, it would be difficult,,,, It may never fly again,,,,, What type of life would it have,,, You need a license to have a captive native bird ,,, ,,, ,,,etc....

I took the parrot home he lived on the curtain rail floor and chair backs and in spring when I opened up the house he flue away.......

So today &Tonight I sit hear and think of this vet the Eagle and wires and my giving my power away.....

Its no good crying over spillt milk. The Eagle is a symbol of power, I knew in my inner heart and promised her that we would look after her when I was trying to capture her, I knew what should be done....And when I caught her I gave her to another who seemed to have more authority than me......

IF I had honored my promise to and of my own power I would have taken her to a cage no more than 200m from where she fell and looked after her with the help of the farm manager for the winter.

I am sure she would have flown again.

A lessen on how easy it is to give up ones own inner heart felt authority and power to others that only wear a badge of authority and have no true training or commitment.

Shaman Do you tend the sick and frail when your spells can’t cure, or do you hide them behind glass walls in the temple of the soul!

Shaman truth need no words. Do you give honour to your words of love and friendship or leave that for others to do. Do you judge another according to their truth or judge to bind in serving the temple of your ego. Do you serve your shaman way or cheaply use this truth!

"How can we care for all the children of all the species for all time",

My question is, How can we care for this earth and all her creatures?
The answer is simple really.
Care for this earth and all her creatures.
The practice the way is difficult in this day.
I used to use a mantra - I am the earth, when I first started to query what she was about.
What I have noticed is that as I ask this question every day my perceptions are changing.
A lot of what I used to find satisfying important for human life is now just so vile and sickening.
I have become the earth and I feel sick at what we do.
Its strange and sacred, She is always talking silently in us.

Dear Friends,

I am rather confused and concerned by the disappearing Bees around the Globe and our responses. Bees are kind of special, a canary in a haystack, a keystone specie. There seems to be a connection between certain insecticides used in almost all horticulture situations, from urban gardens, golf courses to commercial agriculture and GMOs.

Bees don’t do to well in genetically modified crops that express insect toxins. e.g. bt cotton, canola.

The countries using GM crops linked with systemic insecticides are having staggering Bee losses. It is known as CCD colony collapse disorder.

Australia is spared this blight at present. We use these Insecticides but as yet don’t have widespread GM crops expressing insect toxins. This is Changing Quickly.

FSANZ is asking for public submissions on the release of these lethal corporate bio-engendered money spinners.

My dilemma is this. I don’t feel confident or understand the process involved in creating and submitting this information to FSANZ or other authorities. I do feel it is extremely important to do so.

I am asking for a call of solidarity, a call to arms or maybe a whimping plee for help.

Is there anyone interested in gathering collating and creating a submission?

The goal is to cycle nutrients solid and liquid through a combined aquaponics and vermiculture system to grow food for the table. Recycle organic food and organic matter. Possibly produce Vermicompost and liquid fertilizer.

Musings
Worms produce nitrogen rich liquid and solid products suitable for growing plants, are a rich protein source.
Fish eat worms and also produce nitrogen.
Plants use nitrogen.
Hydroponic gravel beds act as filters removing particles and nutrients.
I Eat fish plants and worms (sometimes).
What type of fish?
Commercial home size aquaponic systems take about the space of a double garage and are claimed to feed a family of four.

However, governments in Australia continue to spend twenty-eight (28!) times more taxpayer’s money on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas than they put into renewable energy like solar and wind. We think it’s time to give renewables a fair go!

Food is sacred.
Why have we forgotten.
That it is our body's way of connecting with this earth.

I do not understand how people have become so blind to this life, so disconnected from this earth.
Not understanding why processed food causes disease, taking the media as some form of truth, eating from McDonald's, accepting product marketing, thinking the products sold at supermarkets have any thing to do with food.

I'm doing a Permaculture design course. I did it about twenty years ago, I'm doing it again.
I have been making a living as a gardener for the last twenty years.
I understand what it is like to tend a garden.
To take a ripe natural peach from a tree and eat it.
It is the most connected spiritual experiences apart from good sex and meditation that I Know.

Maybe most people have never experienced eating with a friend or a stranger from a common tree, or experienced offering the fruit to the universe before eating it.
Maybe most people aren't sensitive enough to experience the light stream from the fruit as they hold it high offering it.
Maybe our deep conditioning has broken our connections.
To offer a fruit then eat it yourself surly has undertones of taboo!
Why have we forgotten how sacred our food is, our connection with this earth?

For this reason alone it is important to grow and engage in this cycle of life.
To practice in some way in developing local community.

Where am I going here, This has been circling in my head for a number of years. I read a lot of article's in the enquiring press, I know others are dealing with the same questions.
I, self, consciousness, other.
Language is a good tool ,It can free as well as bind.
sooner or later it devours itself, tail first.
It is so easy to do it badly, magic when it works.

I meet so many people conditioned to the extent that.......
In Woolworth's especially
Do cats experience thirst and desire consciously to decide to drink, or are they only automata following there instincts
Do we.
Why does the scientific community have trouble with this.
They don't eat there cats.

Are we aware that what we see in the moment happened a moment ago. we project a moment before that into our experience to give continuity.
What we think we experiences, is a projection from the past.
i.e. experience is being created from a memory store, continually updated.
In short its an illusion.
It takes time for something new to get to awareness.
If we don't stop to process this we are living in the past. nothing new happening.
I only see a problem with this when I'm in Walworth's or with my family.
I find it hard to understand how that mentality came to be.

Tell people something they know already and they will thank you for it.
Tell them something new and they will hate you for it. monbiot.

Why we have become so impatient, blind to the way we process information. That it's a representations of reality not reality.
OR are we only now becoming aware.
Are there really so many asleep people getting around , unconscious automata doing as there biological cultural familiar conditioning processes, without a thought as to what is happening in the culture and in there own head.
With all the schools around - we have a major problem
madness - conflicts with conditioning awareness and knowledge.

Life is One.

What is lost?
What can be found?

I have grown up in a culture dominated by the Roman Catholic church
and it effects on me/us has been Quite profound, not always for the better, and often for the worst.

Life is One not two. one universe, one earth, one I, and only one I.
Just look around. how many I's do you know?

My soul was stolen by the church before I realized their way is false. You know the story. God in heaven has your soul in safe keeping for you and you will be reunited with it when you die. Only if you have done the right thing during life will you reclaim it. Otherwise the devil will have it forever in hell. Yeah that's a lot of pretty heavy conditioning to lay on a six year old. Keeps the church in power and us slaves.

So the church had stolen my soul as a child and cast it away in gods name.
When I woke up to this I started to wonder what was going on. After long and deep questioning I decided to take a tour of hell to find out what had been stolen. And you know what I found? That there is light in them there shadows. Something more precious than the finest gold and gems . I found myself, neither good nor bad, but purely divine, the truth of my being. I found an ancient God who has been conned and is incredibly angry.
I found that life is multidimensional, three physical three etheric and three archetypal dimensions. I found that we can be alive and consciouses in all, that is our major task in life, to bring heart imagination and desire into harmony.

I also met a angel, the conscious self of this earth, she is beautifull, we know her as Gaea. She loves us more than anything, she has worked so hard to give us birth, and we piss on her, like we are truly asleep, wetting our bed as children in the dark.
It is time to wake!
She only wants one thing from us.
To live in conscious awareness of our life together.

By caring for her and all her creatures and enjoying ourselves with her, she speaks to us constantly. Open your ears your eyes your heart and your body, to hear her. Care for her as she cares for you/us. Eat and be eaten, for this is her way and we are part and the whole of her, not just us but all life. It is the only way to move through this realm .............
That enough for now.. Work the rest out for yourself.

This process with allowing one or two Companies to take control of the food supply is criminal to the extreme.
To control other food systems through pollution and adulterations is fascist.
To own life is abhorrent .
No more need be said on this as we are educated people.

Is it good business to remove ones choice to acquire unadulterated food.
Is it Good business to adulterated food.
Is it good business to create short term profit at the cost of long term existence.
Is it good business to poison your children.
Only if your business is war and destruction.

I grow more of the food I consume in my own garden or acquire it from farmers markets & organic outlets. I avoid supermarkets. If I cannot be assured of my choice I shall choose in a different way, with my feet.

I will not knowingly support business or processes who's default design is to adulterate food or
build poisons into children's toys etc.

The Government needs to ensure that..............................

* Support maintaining state moratoria on GM food crops
* Support strict liability where the GM company is liable for any economic loss caused by their product
* Support independent health testing
* Support independent small scale performance trials
* Support ensuring the GM company is legally responsible for totally containing their product
* Support continued supply of uncontaminated GM-free seed
* Support AQIS screening to prevent GM contamination in imports.
* Support the International Biosafety Protocol.
and
* Oppose increased costs and liabilities for non-GM farmers and non-GM consumers

The fourth Global Environment Outlook (GEO-4)

Humanity is changing Earth's climate so fast and devouring resources so voraciously that it is poised to bequeath a ravaged planet to future generations, the United Nations warned in its most comprehensive survey of the environment.

The fourth Global Environment Outlook (GEO-4), published by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), is compiled by 390 experts from observations, studies and data garnered over two decades.

The 570-page report - which caps a year that saw climate change dominate the news - says world leaders must propel the environment "to the core of decision-making" to tackle a daily worsening crisis.

"The need couldn't be more urgent and the time couldn't be more opportune, with our enhanced understanding of the challenges we face, to act now to safeguard our own survival and that of future generations," GEO-4 said.

The UNEP report offers the broadest and most detailed tableau of environmental change since the Brundtland Report, 'Our Common Future', was issued in 1987 and put the environment on the world political map.

"There have been enough wake-up calls since Brundtland. I sincerely hope GEO-4 is the final one," said UNEP executive director Achim Steiner.

"The systematic destruction of the Earth's natural and nature-based resources has reached a point where the economic viability of economies is being challenged - and where the bill we hand on to our children may prove impossible to pay," he added.

Earth has experienced five mass extinctions in 450 million years, the latest of which occurred 65 million years ago, says GEO-4.

"A sixth major extinction is under way, this time caused by human behaviour," it says.

Over the past two decades, growing prosperity has tremendously strengthened the capacity to understand and confront the environmental challenges ahead.

Despite this, the global response has been "woefully inadequate," the report said.

The report listed environmental issues by continent and by sector, offering dizzying and often ominous statistics about the future.

Climate is changing faster than at any time in the past 500,000 years.

Global average temperatures rose by 0.74 degrees Celsius over the past century and are forecast to rise by 1.8 to 4 Celsius by 2100, it said, citing estimates issued this year by the 2007 Nobel Peace co-laureates, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

With more than six billion humans, Earth's population is now so big that "the amount of resources needed to sustain it exceeds what is available," the report warned, adding that the global population is expected to peak at between eight and 9.7 billion by 2050.

"In Africa, land degradation and even desertification are threats; per capita food production has declined by 12 per cent since 1981," it said.

The GEO-4 report went on to enumerate other strains on the planet's resources and biodiversity.

Fish consumption has more than tripled over the past 40 years but catches have stagnated or declined for 20 years, it said.

"Of the major vertebrate groups that have been assessed comprehensively, over 30 per cent of amphibians, 23 per cent of mammals and 12 per cent of birds are threatened," it added.

Stressing it was not seeking to present a "dark and gloomy scenario", UNEP took heart in the successes from efforts to combat ozone loss and chemical air pollution.

But it also stressed that failure to address persistent problems could undo years of hard grind.

And it noted: "Some of the progress achieved in reducing pollution in developed countries has been at the expense of the developing world, where industrial production and its impacts are now being exported."

GEO-4 - the fourth in a series dating back to 1997 - also looks at how the current trends may unfold and outlines four scenarios to the year 2050: "Markets First", "Policy First", "Security First", "Sustainability First".

After a year that saw the UN General Assembly devote unprecedented attention to climate change and the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the IPCC and former US vice president Al Gore for raising awareness on the same issue, the report's authors called for radical change.

"For some of the persistent problems, the damage may already be irreversible," they warned.

"The only way to address these harder problems requires moving the environment from the periphery to the core of decision-making: environment for development, not development to the detriment of environment."

Elaine Ingham would never treat soil like dirt. She reveres it, as we all should, since this precious substance is the thin brown line between plenty and starvation. Given the necessity of topsoil to human survival, you'd think we'd have legions of soil biologists on the case, but Elaine is one of only a handful of serious scientists delving into this microcosmos that feeds the world and helps support life on earth.

Until recently an associate research professor of forest science at Oregon State University, Elaine has twenty-five years of experience in microbiology, botany, plant pathology, and soil and ecology research. She founded Soil Foodweb Inc. and is currently president of the Soil Foodweb Institute in Australia and research director of Soil Foodweb in New York. She serves on the boards of several sustainability organizations and is an active member of numerous prestigious microbiology and ecology associations. She has done stints as president of the Soil Ecology Society and program chair of the Ecological Society of America and has penned over fifty peer-reviewed scientific papers.

Elaine speaks to groups around the world on how to grow plants without the use of toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers while at the same time increasing soil fertility and crop production. She has led countless workshops and training sessions at which farmers are taught highly practical techniques for building soil health, using sophisticated composting methods, and enhancing microbiological communities for crop production. Unquestionably one of the world's leading specialists in soil health, she is an exceptionally creative innovator who has made major contributions to our understanding of the soil food web (as she likes to call it) and its structure and function in terrestrial ecosystems from arctic to tropical climates.

Her research spans agricultural. grassland, and forest ecologies, where she has analyzed the action of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes, and mycorrhizal fungi from over 30,000 soil samples.

When a scientist of Elaine's stature warns us about the catastrophic potential of topsoil loss and the escape of genetically modified organisms into the already compromised environment, we do well to pay close attention. ----

Unnatural Selection: The Bacterium That (Almost) Ate the World

Elaine Ingham IN MY PROGRAM at Oregon State University in the early 1990s, we started testing the ecological impacts of most of the genetically engineered organisms being produced at that time. The question our lab was asked to address was, Did these engineered organisms have any impact out there in the real world?

The first fourteen species that we worked on - microorganisms, bacteria. and fungi - were organisms incapable of surviving in the natural environment. Putting them in the world would be like taking penguins from the South Pole and dropping them into the La Brea tar pits. Would there be any ecological effect if we dropped a penguin into the middle of the tar pit? Probably not; the impact would be rapidly absorbed by the system.

These first fourteen species of GMOs that we tested had a similarly negligible impact. On this basis. the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the regulatory agency that was determining U.S. policy on genetically engineered organisms, set a course that essentially said that a genetically engineered organism posed no greater risk to the environment than the parent organism does.

GMO number fifteen, however, was a very different story. Klebsiella planticola, the bacterium that is the parent organism of this new strain, lives in soils everywhere. It's one of the few truly universal species of bacteria, growing in the root systems of all plants and decomposing plant litter in every ecosystem in the world.

The genetic engineers took genetic material from another bacterium and inserted that trait in the GMO to allow Klebsiella planticola to produce alcohol. The aim of this genetic modification was to eliminate the burning of farm fields to rid them of plant matter after harvest. The idea was that you could, instead, rake up all that plant residue, put it in a bucket. and inoculate it with the engineered bacterium, and in about two weeks' time you would have a material that contained about 17 percent alcohol. The alcohol could be extracted and used for gasohol, for cleaning windows, or for myriad other uses: cooking with alcohol in Third World countries, for instance.

The genetic engineers thought this transformation would bring huge benefits. We would no longer have to burn fields, we would breathe better in the fall, and both the company and farmers would get a product that could be sold. There was actually a fourth win: the sludge at the bottom of the bucket is an organic fertilizer, and there are no waste products from that material.

So what's the problem? Suppose you're a farmer and you've got live, alcohol-producing Klebsiella planticola that you're going to spread on your fields (which might be easier than gathering up all the plant waste and putting it in buckets). Can it wash into the root systems of your plants? Most likely. Once it's there and growing in the root systems of your plants, it's producing alcohol. What level of alcohol is toxic to plants? It's one part per million. How much alcohol does this engineered organism produce? Seventeen parts per million. Very soon you will have drunk dead plants.

We did this experiment under controlled conditions in the laboratory because I wasn't going to take this kind of risk out in the field. We constructed three kinds of microcosms of a field, filled them with normal field soil as a growing medium, and planted wheat plants in the three separate systems - each consisting of multiple units - and put them in an incubator. In the first third of the units, we added only water. We added parent, non-GMO bacterium to the second group and the engineered Klebsiella planticola to the third.

About a week later, we walked into the laboratory, opened up the incubator, and said, "Oops, what did we do wrong?" Many of the plants were dead and were turning into slime on the surface of the soil. In all the units with just water in the system, the plants were doing okay. In those that had been inoculated with the parent Klebsiella planticola, the plants were even bigger, because increased nutrient cycling in the root system makes more nitrogen available, causing the plants to grow bigger. Clearly the parent organism was a benefit to the plant. But where the engineered bacterium was growing, all the plants were dead.

Later we tried this experiment using several different kinds of soils, but the result in every case was dead plants.

Take that information and extrapolate it to the real world. Given that the parent organism lives in the root systems of all plants, what's the logical outcome of releasing this organism into the natural environment?

Very possibly, we would have no terrestrial plants left. Some plants, such as riparian and wetland plants, have mechanisms for dealing with alcohol production in their root systems. But the logical extrapolation of that experiment is that we would lose terrestrial plants.

I have attended some of the United Nations biosafety protocol meetings. At the 1995 meeting in Madrid, the U.S. delegation was the strongest in saying, in essence, "Don't worry, be happy. Trust us. We don't need a biosafety protocol. Why would biotech companies ever do anything to harm people?"

To me, their words echoed those we've heard before from tobacco, pesticide, and fertilizer companies. At one such meeting, I related the story of Klebsiella planticola as an example of the lack of adequate testing for the ecological impact of genetically engineered organisms. The biotech companies object that it costs too 'much to do this kind of environmental testing. In my view, that's just hype, because I pointed out that our lab spent a very insignificant amount of money to do these simple experiments, especially considering that if this bacterium were let loose in the environment, we would have some very significant problems with our food supply.

No one in his or her right mind is going to test for the kind of risk Klebsiella planticola represents because once you release an organism, there is no way to get it back.

How far does a single-point inoculation of a genetically engineered organism spread in one year? An engineered Rhizobium bacterium that was released in Louisiana in the mid-1990s spread eleven miles per year and has by now dispersed across the North American continent.

At these United Nations meetings I warned that corn pollen is going to move a lot more than three feet away from the plant. "Oh no," said the biotechnology representatives present. "Corn pollen falls out of the air three feet from the plant." I would say, "Wait a minute, you've never heard of bees? How about birds? and insects? and wind "Oh no, it falls out of the air within three feet of the plant." Why do our bureaucrats choose to to believe these "scientists"? Just open any plant textbook and you find that corn pollen can be found in the Antarctic and the Arctic. But if you listen to Monsanto, corn pollen can't possibly be there. Armed with the knowledge of this peril, we need to convince members of Congress that appropriate ecological testing must be done prior to releasing GMOs into the environment. If this happens, it could help keep the problems that are already starting to occur from getting worse.

Addendum from Dave Blume:
I talk about the Klebsiella debacle in detail in my book, Alcohol Can Be A Gas, and it was actually a lot worse than this post relates. The original researchers threw out samples behind the lab and discovered the dead plants, got curious and discovered that the Klebsiella was alive and they had to dig up all the soil and incinerate it. Dr. Ingham subsequently elucidated the mechanism. I would add that the organism was engineered to eat cellulose and make alcohol. So in addition to the alcohol poisoning of the roots the bacteria was also eating the cellulosic root tips of the plants. I often tell this story and add that we really need to lock up all the genetic engineers in a very nice country club type prison since they have nearly ended life on earth several times already with bonehead projects like this.

I used to ask this question what it is about this realm. What is it that it/she teaches? What does she ask of us?

Everything on this earth lives by taking the life of something else. In a web a cycle a chain of life. The earthworm manages bacteria in the soil the bacterium consumes animal and plant wastes returning life to the soil. Plants grow from this. The earthworm consumes plant and animal wastes. The small creatures and birds eat worms larger ones eat theses. Structure and energy moves up the food web in ever increasing complexity through time and space. At every level nutrients and energy rain back down through the structures to be picked up again incorporated. Fish bring nutrients their life from the oceans up stream. Animals eat them and move this away from the rivers to be taken up by plants. The birds carry information away from its origin through the system. At every level life is in flux moving but stable. Biomass remains the same even though the species move & change; in short life lives by consuming itself. With one exception, an impute of energy from the sun.

The lesson is life consumes life to live
We must eat to live and in tern are eaten so life can live, then we are consumed
To eat and be eaten, To know, to give ourselves completely to life.
To truly live we need to embrace this.

In the year 2000 early summer I was sitting on my front step in the sun feeling lonely deeply alone. Asking a question within myself “why am I alone in this life, why do I need to live alone? Why can I not follow the way of others to feel comfort in the congregation of the church of humanity? Why find my own path, where is the beloved.

I heard a voice, a voice sounded in my heart my ears my mind every pore of my being all around me with the most amazing feeling of love sadness joy acceptance “Why do you fret so, you should know I am all ways with you”. But there was no one around. I was surrounded by light and a overwhelming sense of compassion and connectedness. It was a feminine voice, an angel, the conscious self of this earth, I don’t know.

That was a beginning of a conversation that went on for a couple of weeks. The main points were -

To care for her and all her creatures. That when a person dies they need something larger than themselves to contain the spirit until they can re-embody themselves. That I knew how the spiritual life of the earth works and to tell everyone, and It would be a good idea to get away from large centers of population within ten years. I queried this and was told that the psychic space will be so corrupted that it would not be a good place to be for sensitive ones. While this was happening I was surrounded by a blue light, it felt like I was being tucked under a wing, I remember thinking this is why they say angels have wings.

I could not believe the experience and questioned my sanity, asking for some kind of proof that this was real, the next week there was a lottery wining in my postbox for the same amount as my tax dept. coincidence maybe,

I could not accept the prophet bit, to many bible stories in my youth, and turned my back on the experience, and that was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. I lost my soul and found hell.

About two years ago I woke up to this and started to do as she had asked, life has changed, it is not easy but I am whole in myself, damaged but whole.

And her main message

Care for this earth and all the creatures, is the most important spiritual thing a person can do, for themselves and all life now and forever more.
